Our Cross Country team had a great start to the season with their first race at the iconic Silver Lake Invitational on Saturday, September 22nd. The team has been building their mileage and stamina for this meet.

As a result, Jack E. (7th Grader) came out with confidence and ran a very tactical race and popped out of the woods in first place. Not only did he receive a metal and stand at the top of the podium, but he clocked a personal record (PR) of 9:37 (that is a 5:40 mile split at the mile marker) on the 1.7 mile course.

Jack E. at the Top of the podium. He earned 2nd last year as a 6th Grader.

Not to mention, Emily B. (6th Grader) proved after her first middle school race that she likes competition, as she finished with a top 13 finish and kicked strongly into the finish line. Evan M. (8th Grade), Ray S. (8th Grade) and Sara C. (6th Grade) finished strong and all with personal records (PR’s), too.

We are looking forward to the next meet, as the rest of the season the courses will be 1.5 miles.

We appreciate support at our upcoming home meet on Thursday, October 4th at 4 p.m. The race will be at Cornwall Park. Our athletes are excited to make improvement and already visualizing their next upcoming races.
