Mark your calendar!  Chess players from K-8 are invited to participate in St. Paul’s Academy’s state qualifying tournament on November 10th, 2018 (open to the public and was originally on the 3rd). The action will begin at St. Paul’s Academy (1509 E. Victor Street, Markell Hall) at 9 a.m. (check-in time: 8:30 – 8:50 a.m.).

This fun event will be directed by Ethan Neff. There will be awards given to the top five finishers in K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and the top three teams.  Medals will be given to first time participants and participants who qualify for state by earning three points. The entry fee is $15 per player and $20 if you register after October 27th (online payment only).  The first 30 registrants will receive a free t-shirt!  Register your player at https://knightschess.wordpress.com/

 

Note: This event’s target audience is K-8th Grade. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

St. Paul’s will also host a bughouse tournament in spring 2019
