The Lower School (Kindergarten – 4th Grade) provides students with a small school feeling with high expectations. Students are in a homeroom where they advance in Math, Reading, Writing, Science, Social Studies, as well as specialists in Art, Music, Physical Education, Library, and Spanish. Students learn how to engage in their learning, make reflections, develop a passion to create, and understand what it means to care for their greater community and friends.
Our students exceed state and national standards
Our lower school curriculum follows national standards from experts in each subject area. With fewer early release days (18% more contact time than public schools), students get more instruction.
Emphasis on STEM
Students explore STEM concepts in Lower School and have the opportunity to channel that knowledge into real world applications.
Learning extends beyond the classroom
Experiential education is provided through a wide range of curriculum-based field trips, including the Mt. Baker Theater, Marine Life Center, Seattle Science Center, , SPARK Museum of Electrical Invention, Washington State History Museum, and Western Washington University’s science facilities.
