Yesterday we celebrated our Grandparents and Special Friends! Our visitors attended an assembly where they were entertained by musical performances and a STEM presentation. Afterwards, they visited students in their classrooms and participated in classroom activities! Such a wonderful day of connection for our families and our students!

"Stone Soup" is an annual project for 8th graders through the Chapel Service Guild. Families donate veggies to the school and parent volunteers and 8th graders work together to make soup for the Lighthouse Mission. This year we gathered at St Sophia Orthodox Church and made a delicious soup, savory rolls, a green salad, and brownies. This meal was then given to the kitchen at the Lighthouse Mission to serve the guests. After our cooking was complete, students had the opportunity to tour the Lighthouse Mission's new facility, which will house their shelter, recovery programs, and store fronts. The students were industrious workers, a thoughtful tour group, and super fun. It was a successful project and day. Thanks to the Chapel Guild and families for their awesome contributions.

We want to commend all of the participants of the Franklin's Got Talent show last week. Every act was entertaining and truly displayed the diversity of talents we have within our student body. We had many excellent singers and piano players. We had talents that ranged from tap dancing to joke telling to drumming to poetry and even more! House Council is truly grateful to have worked with every single performer. Every act took practice, skill, and bravery.

Today marks our 100th day of school for the 2023-2024 school year! Students in Robin Hall celebrated by making 100 day books, drawing pictures of what they will look like when they are 100, decorating crowns and creating fruit loop necklaces with 100 fruit loops! It's been an awesome 100 days of learning here at The Franklin Academy!

TFA second graders participated in a "sweet" Chapel Guild Service Project today. Students decorated heart shaped cookies with pink, purple & white frosting and special valentine's sprinkles. These cookies were adorably packaged and Chaplain Aaron and Mrs. Lyzwinski delivered them to the residents of the Agape House and Base Camp. Everyone was thrilled with this special treat! Thank you, second graders and teachers!

⚜️ THANK YOU ⚜️ to all our friends who attended the sold-out Golden Gala auction last Saturday night at the Silver Reef.
We were delighted by the turnout, and by the generosity that helped us meet our fundraising goals.
These funds help provide tuition assistance, support the 7th and 8th grade trips, and cover the gap between tuition and the school's operating budget.
Everything was beautiful, thanks to the auction committee, and we had many exciting auction items donated by the Bellingham community. Many thanks to all who made the evening possible!

This week it was our 7th Grade students' turn to complete their annual community service project with the Chapel Service Guild. Major Shevaun Malone of the Salvation Army was kind enough to visit us and give a presentation about services the Salvation Army provides to communities worldwide. Following the presentation, our students made 100 sack lunches to donate to the Salvation Army’s local food bank! In the words of Chaplain Aaron, the students “had fun, worked well together and were an efficient machine of awesomeness!” The lunches were well-received by the Salvation Army and will feed 100 of our community members experiencing food insecurity.
Many thanks to the 7th Grade students, Chaplain Aaron, Mrs. Lyzwinski and the Chapel Service Guild volunteers. A shout out also to our student helpers from the Service elective class.
