Last Friday, May 19th students were encouraged to participate in the Jr. Ski to Sea Parade with their parents, which nicely followed the Bike to School day that many of our families participated in.

Lower School Physical Education Teacher Delicia Van Harmelen informed, “We had 116 bikers check in at our celebration station for Bike to School Day at Lower School at the start of the day!! I am so proud of the amount of participation! Thanks to Parents Actively Lending Support and Arne Hanna Aquatic Center for donating funds and coupons that were used as raffle prizes for those who participated. Because of his or her generous donation, EVERY participant walked away with a prize! It was so fun to see their faces when I called their names during lunch!”

That late afternoon was the Jr. Ski to Sea Parade. It is joyful to announce that our school walked away with the “Best Decorated Bike” award. This the first time our school has come away with recognition at the Jr. Ski to Sea Parade.

A huge kudos to our Parents Actively Lending Support (PALS) group for encouraging family fun events and keeping our community connected. In particular, we thank Liz Walker and Betty Chen, for coordinating the parade logistics and building excitement for Preschool, Lower School, and Middle School to march, ride, and represent St. Paul’s Academy.
Communication leading up to the event rallied kids to wear their best Knight (or princess) ensemble, dress in blue and white, and/or Spirit Wear! PALS also provided masks that could be colored. There were even younger students and siblings that were walking or riding in strollers and/or wagons and older students riding bikes to support the procession.

It is now a three-year tradition that our Fourth graders proudly help carry the dragon.
To top off the weekend, one of our St. Paul’s Academy teams became mixed team Jr. Ski to Sea Champions for the third year in a row for Elementary! It consisted of five St. Paul’s fifth graders and one previous St. Paul’s Academy student. There were several other students that participated in the event.

Feel free to check out the Jr. Ski to Sea Results.
