Did you know that we offer Preschool for ages 2 1/2 to 5 years old? A full day of instruction provides your student with additional time with our experienced, certified educators with time to focus on the whole child (healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged). With the extra time, each child can grow socially, emotionally, physically, cognitively, and linguistically.  Additionally, they can provide curricular development in literacy, mathematics, science, technology, social studies, and the arts, all while giving time for hands-on STEM activities and providing weekly time with Spanish and music specialists, too.

Our philosophy is that children learn best through active participation, exploration, and self-discovery. Our teachers are responsive to your student’s unique temperament and developmental needs as they provide rich, age-appropriate experiences and versatile materials to satisfy any child’s curious nature while also supporting his or her development and growth. You can read more about our Preschool Learning Outcomes on the Parent Portal section of our school website.

What are the program options and hours?

The classrooms open at 8:30 a.m. with the option for families to enroll in morning/afternoon wrap around care. With COVID, we are operating a staggered release time schedule from 2:30 to 2:45 p.m. There are options for either a three-day (MWF) or 5 day program.

Note: Additionally, we offer a two-day option (T, TH) for 2.5 year old students (children must be 2 1/2 by August 31st).

Miss Camaya, one of our beloved preschool teachers, recently shared, “My four-year-old students are having fun learning about the letter ‘s’ and spiders. They love to sing ‘I’m a Little Spider’ and their new Spanish song.”

In Mrs. Owen’s Early K class, things are really starting to feel like fall. She shared, “In mid-October we discussed how bats are nocturnal mammals, labeled bat anatomy, and did some fun science around echolocation.” The class was able to demonstrate this to the kids by turning out the lights and having her students close their eyes and pretend to be bats while she pretended to be an insect. They had to use only their ears to try and find where she was buzzing in/out of the classroom.

What Our Parents Say. . .

“Looking back at the preschool experience, it offers a huge variety of activities—art, reading, math, sensory play, outdoor play, Spanish, music, etc. I’ve been pleased with the unscheduled, mini-conferences available before or after school to check-in. The teachers (and whole staff!) are flexible and understanding when it comes to family needs, schedules, and all of the unusual requests that come with having a four-year-old! I couldn’t be happier with our experience!” ~Treasure S. |  Kindergarten and 3rd Grade Parent
