We held our annual gala and auction on Saturday January 26th, 2019. The evening was a resounding success – raising a total of $503,700 dollars! This was a record-breaking year for the school and our gala fundraising efforts! Of this, an amazing amount, over $244,000, goes directly to student scholarships and tuition aid via our Raise the Paddle.

Over 230 guests: parents, grandparents and friends of the school attended. Their commitment to the school was demonstrated through the fierce bidding and amazing fund raising that took place that evening.

The evening had a steam punk theme in keeping with our STEM focus and we had an area dedicated to student STEM projects: coding, web design and makerspace that was a huge hit during silent auction hour.

Our gala this year had the added excitement of the official announcement of our new name for the school. Henceforth we are The Franklin Academy! The audience heard why Benjamin Franklin was chosen to represent the school as we continue to modernize the Academy and have it advance thru its own Age of Enlightenment.  Franklin, a successful journalist and publisher in Philadelphia, retired early to pursue scientific research and help found new educational and charitable institutions.  With a passion for political liberty, Franklin joined the American rebels against English rule.  He was a key leader of the Founding Father’s team, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire.

Thank you to all of our sponsors, donors and guests. We are truly humbled and grateful for your support of our school and look forward to even greater success as we continue to grow and thrive.
