I am thrilled to be working at a school that has specialists in: Music, Art, Physical Education, & Spanish. Our comprehensive art program gives a strong foundation of fine arts, as students are exposed to global citizenship and are empowered to express themselves creatively. This is a nice preview of 4th graders starting a project where they are learning about monochromatic self-portraits. They looked at some famous examples by Van Gogh and Picasso before getting started.
The students will also learn about collaboration as we piece all our self-portraits into one rainbow mural to display in the lower school.
The goal of the art program is to use as many multimedia approaches as possible and for students to enjoy finding their voice through hands-on projects.
