3rd Grade

Education: Lesley University, M.Ed. Elementary Education, Creative Arts in Learning

Donald Schultz, born and raised in Massachusetts, moved to Bellingham in the summer of 2017. He graduated from Lesley University in May of 2001 and has taught the middle (third, fourth, third/fourth, and fifth) grades. He taught four years in two public schools in Massachusetts, ten years at Cambridge Friends School (a Quaker school), and two years at Buckingham Browne and Nichols School in Cambridge, MA.

Donald values student experiences that bring learning outside traditional classroom walls, allowing them to find meaning in the subject matter. In this way, they are encouraged to gain new perspectives about themselves, their community, and other cultures. Learning about differences is essential as our world is comprised of varying individuals.

When not in the classroom, Donald spends much of his time outside, hiking or walking the many trails in and around Bellingham. He also has a passion for running and Harry Potter.

A favorite saying: “Look for truth within yourself … live a life of simplicity, love, and service. Let your life speak, and trust that children will learn by your example.” ~ Robert Lawrence Smith
