St. Paul’s Academy and Whatcom Hills Waldorf school are sponsoring a free showing of the new documentary “SCREENAGERS: Growing up in the Digital Age” on Thursday, October 6th in the gym at St. Paul’s Academy at 1509 Victor St.  The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a Whatcom Independent Schools Fair and the film will begin at 7pm. Adults and students fifth grade and older. The event is free, but donations are encouraged.

“SCREENAGERS” is the first feature-length documentary that focuses on how families are coping with screen time and how our frequent connection to devices is affecting relationships and social development. The film was directed by Delaney Ruston, a Seattle filmmaker, and physician who threads her own experience with her children through the central storyline.  While there is no turning back the clock, the filmmakers hope that project can stimulate much-needed conversation.
