Last night I had a parent say to me, “We toured other schools and they all seemed stale compared to the energy and excitement at this school.”  Last night’s event, “The Franklin Academy Board/Parent Mixer,” was a great example of our positive momentum.

The Branding Committee announced that our new mascot will be (drumroll please).. The Force. I know that Star Wars enters into some of your minds but so should electrical, gravitational, and magnetic forces.  This new mascot connects all of the things that we are striving to be in STEM focused education. It can also reflect our social and spiritual values as, the force of change and the force for good. Plus, chanting “Franklin Force, Franklin Force” at a middle school basketball game will be really fun!

There was also a display of our new(ish) uniform colors and choices for Franklin Academy. The Kindergarten through Eighth Grade will all wear the current Lower School uniform (khaki and navy or white polos). We will be sending out a more detailed description and will alert you when the new logo is available on Lands End.

Blueprints and tours were also available to give an idea of the consolidation and remodeling of our campuses. When we return from Spring Break, we plan to give our 2nd-4th graders group tours of where their classrooms will be next year. Our number one goal is to make our students feel comfortable and excited about all the changes.

Don’t forget to register by April 30th to get in on the most exciting school in Whatcom County… The Franklin Academy.
