Meet a Member of Our Voluntary Board of Trustees

admin November 22, 2019

The Franklin Academy is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization governed by a voluntary Board of Trustees. The Board is made up of parents, grandparents, alumni, and community members whose time and expertise contribute to the operations of the school. The Board’s major responsibilities are to:

  • Hire and evaluate the school’s Head of School.
  • Define the schools’ mission and set policies.
  • Set the vision and strategic direction of the school.
  • Observe and monitor programs and services the school provides.

All parents of students at The Franklin Academy are members of our parent association, PALS. Every year, PALS has the opportunity to elect one parent to The Franklin Academy Board of Trustees to serve as a representative of PALS, and thus represent the interests of the school parents as a member of the Board of Trustees (August – July).

Nadia Boulos (Member at Large and Parents Actively Lending Support (PAL) Representative) joined The Franklin Academy Board of Trustees in 2019. She previously worked as a Marketing Manager for four years at Alpha Technologies, a power solutions company in Bellingham, and dabbled in real estate with the Muljat Group for two years. She has previously served on the school’s auction committee and PALS. She is a proud WWU alumnus with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing. Her background includes marketing, public relations, web design, and event planning. She was raised in Lebanon and has been living in Bellingham since 2001 with her husband and two children. Anabelle and Andrew (4th and 2nd Grader respectively). Nadia can be contracted by email or cell: nadiaboulos@gmail.com and (360) 201-2833.

One of her favorite sayings is, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.” ~ Gibran Khalili Gibran
