July Head of School Update
Dear Franklin Academy Parents,
I hope you are enjoying your summer! Normally in July we are having a bit of downtime but this summer our staff are very much at work ensuring that we are ready for the Fall.
I have seen that many other schools in Whatcom County are releasing Fall schedules that divide students into groups attending on different days with modified hours and digital components. Please know that our intent is to provide a full day, full week schedule for our students. Since our school already has smaller class sizes and we do not have school buses we do not have to make many of these additional modifications that schools with larger class sizes are making.
We are working hard to make your child’s school experience as comfortable and consistent as what they were used to but we will have some modifications. Our top goal is our students’ safety. We will be using the CDC guidelines for schools. We will release a detailed Covid-19 plan for the Franklin Academy in August. With the ever changing recommendations it is still too early to make mandates about the criteria for students in September.
