Annual Gala & Auction Sponsor

The Franklin Academy welcomes your attendance and support of this year’s annual gala and auction. We anticipate a fun-filled evening with circus performers, silent, super-silent and live auction items you won’t want to miss.

What is the Gala and Auction?

The gala and auction is an annual event The Franklin Academy hosts. Each year community members come together to celebrate and support our fantastic school. Last year’s gala and auction raised over $400,000 to support The Franklin Academy.

The event offers not only entertainment but three opportunities to bid on auction items:

Silent Auction

Silent auctions stage merchandise on various tables and displays for attendees to look over at their own pace and then bid on via written pledges. Those bids sit on display near their associated items for the next person to review, determining how much they want to exceed the last bid to secure their chance of winning that item. Each year we have approximately x number of silent auction items for guests to place bids on. The items usually sell in the $x-x range. The items range from local “Downtown Packages” that offer gift cards and items from local vendors to handmade The Franklin Academy uniforms for American girl-type dolls.

Super Silent Auction

The super silent auction is the same as the silent auction, but the items are of higher value. Last year we had approximately x items, which sold for an average of $x.

Live Auction

The exciting live auction is led by a trained auctioneer who facilitates the bidding, orchestrating the evening with grand presentations and drumming up bids for individual items, plus a good dose of finesse sprinkled atop stage presence. There are typically 25 live items to bid on, ranging from fishing on the bay with a Franklin Academy family to 6 bottles of exceptional wine to build your cellar.

We are excited to announce a fun new addition to the auction. We will be offer the option to purchase

What do the proceeds go to?

Proceeds of the auction go directly to Franklin Academy’s general operating fund. Table sponsorship is tax deductible. Here are some examples of what the general fund covers:

  • Administrative expenses
  • Instructional expenses
  • Student services
  • Field trips, clubs, travel, extracurriculars, electives
  • Special events
  • Technology
  • Utilities
  • Facilities/grounds
  • Insurance
  • Marketing/Development

We also have “raise the paddle” at the auction, allows people to donate to the student scholarship fund. As well as the always exciting “dessert dash” which helps raise funds for the 7th/8th-grade trip.

Sponsorship and Table Information

Seats are obtained by table sponsorship.

One person, company, organization, etc. sponsors the table.

One payment is made to The Franklin Academy; however, you can split the table fee. We recommend grade-level table sponsorships. This is an excellent way for parents to mingle with other parents they know or would like to get to know better. It is also a way to share the cost of a table. To sponsor a grade-level table, you will need to decide on a point person to make the payment to The Franklin Academy.

Each table seats 10 people. Dinner is included.

Please see attached flyer for specific table sponsorship information. Anyone can sponsor a table. You may also wish to check with your employer, as many Franklin Academy parent employers sponsor tables!

Only want to donate and not attend?

The Franklin Academy’s annual Gala and Auction is a great way to support our school!

Year after year, we are astounded by the generosity of our community. Here is your opportunity to be a supporting part of this event. Cash donations allow us to purchase many items below retail value to keep our costs down. A donation of $25 helps us purchase wine for the Wine Wheel Game, and a $1,500 donation can help underwrite a Live Auction Item such as a Trip to San Juan Island. Every dollar makes a difference, and your donation may be tax deductible.

Choosing to be a Corporate or Family Sponsor is also a tremendous help! Every year our sponsors cover the cost of the printing, décor, rental of the ballroom, and meals. Every dollar raised at the Gala directly supports our educational program, teachers, and tuition scholarships.

We welcome all types of donations, from cash contributions for underwriting live auction items to those unused cash cards.
